How it unfolds

The timeline

Mark your calendar. Here's how the whole thing runs, start to finish.

Submissions open Tue, Jun 16
Submit your design through the official Google Form. You have a full 20 days, and reminders go out partway through.

Submissions close Sun, Jul 5
Last day to enter. The Google Form closes at the end of the day — no late or email entries.

Entries go live Jul 6 – 7
Valid entries are published online so everyone can see them ahead of the vote.

Voting opens Jul 8 – 14
Public and board voting run at the same time for 7 days — the community picks the popular winner while the APA board selects the official logo.

Winners announced Wed, Jul 15
Winners are notified privately, then celebrated publicly across APA channels.

New brand rolls out From Jul 16
Final files are delivered and the new APA logo begins appearing everywhere.
The fine print

Eligibility & rules

Read these before you submit. Entries that don't meet the requirements can't be judged.

  • Open to Alberta residents only. One entry per person.
  • Submit via the Google Form. No email submissions.
  • Design must be original work. No stock icons or clip art.
  • Take a close look at how the best modern logos handle colour and scale. We will use these criteria to judge whether a logo is usable or not.
  • Include a one-paragraph PDF explaining the reasoning behind your logo.
  • By submitting, you confirm original ownership and agree to transfer full IP rights to APA if selected.

Every entry needs all of these:

  1. Your logo in full colour and monochrome (one colour)
  2. Vector source: .ai or .eps
  3. PDF export
  4. PNG, transparent bg (min 1000px)
  5. SVG
  6. Brand spec note: HEX codes + font name
